Campervan and motorhome rental in England is a wonderful way to experience the country's rich history, stunning waterways, and varied natural beauty.

Starting in London gives you an excellent base to explore the South of England. Taking your campervan on a South England campervan road trip allows you to discover the Jurassic Coast, Cornwall, Dover, and other delights.

In contrast, a campervan or motorhome hire from Manchester perfectly positions you to travel around the north of the country. Our North England campervan road trip is an unforgettable way to visit the Lake District and Durham, among other points of int

England's National Parks

England has a diverse range of national parks. Some of its most famous parks are found in the north, with the Peak District National Park providing a blend of rugged terrain, moorland, climbing, and hill walking that you can explore in a campervan rental.

The Northumberland National Park provides motorhome adventurists with panoramic views of unspoiled scenery, including valleys and coasts. It's truly like nowhere else.

The south also has some excellent wildlands you can reach in your campervan or motorhome hire. The woodlands and chalky cliffs of South Downs National Park are iconic. It's a great spot for walks and hikes, surrounded by outstanding natural beauty.

New Forest National Park near Southampton is another great campervan rental destination. The ancient woodland provides endless opportunities for walks, picnics, and experiencing nature. Wild horses, ponies, and donkeys roam freely around the park, making it a magical experience.

Camping in England

Technically wild camping is illegal in England, but many farmers will allow campers on their land with permission or for a small fee, and you should always stick to the “leave only footprints, take only pictures” mentality when doing so.

You can also legally sleep in a road lay-by in your vehicle and there are plenty of these located around stunning scenery in England.

Camping and motorhome sights are extensive in England and there are always multiple camping sites that are campervan friendly in areas of outstanding natural beauty like the Lake and Peak districts.

Coastline, Lakes, and Rivers in England

While England might not be famous for its beaches, it has plenty of coastline attractions you can reach via campervan or motorhome hire. To the south, Camber Sands and the White Cliffs of Dover are worth a visit. Cornwall has some excellent beaches, like Fistral Beach and Constantine Bay, while the stunning open-air cliffside Minack Theatre offers a chance to experience the arts in a one-and-only environment by the Celtic Sea.

The north has plenty to offer too. The seaside town of Whitby, near Yorkshire, is beautiful and vibrant, with lots to do for visitors of every age.

England has beautiful lakes you can visit with a campervan or motorhome rental. Lake Windermere and Ullswater in the Lake District are captivating, while Malham Tarn in North Yorkshire shouldn't be missed either. Finally, if you are looking for something more central, the Stanwick Lakes in Northamptonshire is a hidden gem.

We can't talk about English rivers without mentioning the River Thames. It runs from London to the Channel Sea and offers rowing, boating, and excellent views. The River Wye and River Severn to the southwest mix stunning natural beauty with varied sights like The Iron Bridge and Gloucester Cathedral.

Campgrounds in England

England has a vibrant camping culture. While there are many sites to park your campervan or motorhome at night, it also means that it's best to book ahead to ensure you have a place.

The Summer Valley Touring Park in Cornwall is an excellent spot if you're visiting the southwest. It's friendly, close to the beach, and has a tiki bar and live music.

If you are exploring the Peak District, Laneside Caravan Park in Hope Valley is a great choice. It's clean, spacious, and has some glorious woodland views.

Finally, if you are visiting Northumberland National Park, the River Breamish Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite is a great place to stay. Fantastic modern facilities, friendly hosts, and an idyllic location will keep you coming back.
